The Apprenticeship Program values a collaborative environment in which commitment and engagement are essential.
Each apprentice is expected to participate in creating and sustaining an engaged environment.
Think of a time in which you felt so engaged with an activity that you lost all sense of time and space.
Reflect upon some of the factors that allowed for this commitment and engagement to exist.
Considering these reflections when answering the following questions:
The Apprenticeship Program is committed to creating safer spaces for learning by embodying a practice of trust building, fairness, respect, inclusivity, openness, and transparency.
This apprenticeship space is one in which community support and healing happens. However, it is not the intention nor the scope of this program to offer mental health advice or treatment. It is essential that each participant secures a therapeutic support person(s) prior to the start of the program.
Apprentices are expected to participate in creating and maintaining an inclusive environment in which each participant’s voice is heard and valued.
Apprentices who have historically benefitted from bias are expected to make space for other voices to emerge.
Reflecting on the statements above, please answer the following questions:
The Apprenticeship Program values life/work balance. The hours of active program engagement are roughly eight hours a month, excluding travel time, for nine non-consecutive months (January, August, and December are non-program months).
Each apprentice is expected to commit to attending the full nine-month program.
